Composition & Dynamic Symmetry in Photography

A 3-part series with Kathryn Kolb

$65. per session or $175. for all.

This comprehensive 3-part series covers several distinct approaches to seeing, how specific details of design create meaning, and further how aesthetic design in photography connects to the physical structure of nature and gets to the heart of the significance of Beauty -- the place where art & science connect as one. In Part III, we'll take composition to the next level -- where photography, math and the science of life in the universe become one and the same.

Part III: Dynamic Symmetry

In this session we'll recap the concepts we've covered in group discussions of why compositions work - or don't work. Kathryn then goes through many of her own works, in addition to those of other artists, to illustrate the point where design, math, nature, art and science become inseparably entangled as one. We'll take off into the enjoyably theoretical, discussing the enigmatic principles that govern life and the universe, that are as fun to see as think about. Includes discussion of the Golden Mean, Phi ratios & Fibonacci number sequences -- it's all good! Includes critique session of participants' previous and/or new work related to the topics covered. Coffee and pastries provided.
